Encouraged by the family to record a reading of my poems, I have chosen a dozen which are in the most part autobiographical, and follow events in my life as my life progressed. Over the next few weeks we will share these with you.

It is a great pleasure to announce the launch of this 'Readings’ page. To start with we welcome stars of Screen and Radio, Pauline Collins and husband John Alderton. Over the next few weeks they be reading poems from Maurice Rutherford's book 'And Saturday Is Christmas'.  

To start with, 'Innocence' and 'Experience', which take their titles from ’Songs of Innocence and Experience', by William Blake, although their content is set in Rutherford's own world.  First, Pauline reads 'Innocence', which John follows with 'Experience'.
